General Questions

Where is MasseyMedia located?

We’re based in Lufkin, Texas, in the heart of East Texas. While we work with clients across Texas and beyond, we specialize in serving businesses throughout the East Texas region, from Nacogdoches and Tyler to Beaumont and everywhere in between.

How long has MasseyMedia been in business?

MasseyMedia was founded in 1998, giving us over 25 years of experience in web design and digital marketing. We’ve watched the internet evolve from dial-up to AI, and we’ve helped East Texas businesses grow through every shift.

Do you work with businesses outside of East Texas?

Absolutely. While East Texas is our home turf, we work with clients across Texas and nationally. If you’re looking for a small-town work ethic with big-agency capabilities, we’re your team, no matter where you’re located.

What makes MasseyMedia different from other web design agencies?

A few things set us apart: 25+ years in business (most agencies don’t last 5), no long-term contracts, a local team you can actually reach by phone, and a focus on results, not just pretty websites. We’re not a template shop or a national franchise. We build real solutions for real East Texas businesses.

Web Design & Development

What platforms do you build websites on?

We primarily build on WordPress, which powers over 40% of the web and gives your business full control of your content. We also build custom HTML/CSS sites, WooCommerce eCommerce stores, and can work with other platforms depending on your needs.  Our primary custom development stack is Microsoft-based utilizing SQL Server, IIS, and cusom hand-coded HTML.

How long does it take to build a website?

A typical business website takes 4–8 weeks from kickoff to launch. More complex projects (eCommerce stores, custom features, large content migrations) can take 10–16 weeks. We’ll give you a realistic timeline during your free consultation.

Will my website work on mobile phones?

Every website we build is fully responsive, it automatically adapts to look great on phones, tablets, and desktops. With over half of web traffic coming from mobile devices, this isn’t optional; it’s standard.

Can I update my website by myself after it is built?

Yes. WordPress makes it straightforward to update text, photos, and blog posts without any coding knowledge. We also provide training so you feel confident managing your own content. Need us to handle updates? We offer maintenance plans for that too.

Do you offer website maintenance and hosting?

Yes. We offer ongoing maintenance plans that cover security updates, backups, performance monitoring, and content updates. We can also host your site on our managed servers. Ask about these options during your quote.

Will my website be ADA 2.1 compliant?

We build with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards in mind: proper heading structure, alt text for images, sufficient color contrast, and keyboard navigability. For industries with strict compliance requirements (government, healthcare), we can discuss enhanced accessibility audits.

Local SEO & Digital Marketing

What is Local SEO and why does my business need it?

Local SEO is the process of optimizing your business to show up when people in your area search for what you offer, on Google Maps, in the “local pack” of search results, and in organic rankings. If you’re a Lufkin restaurant and someone searches “best BBQ near me,” local SEO is what gets you found instead of your competitor.

How long does it take to see SEO results?

SEO is a long-term strategy. Most businesses start seeing measurable improvement in 3–6 months, with significant results by 6–12 months. Factors like your competition level, current website health, and how long you’ve been in business all affect the timeline. We’re transparent about this from day one.

Do you guarantee first-page Google rankings?

No reputable SEO company can guarantee specific rankings, Google’s algorithm is too complex and constantly changing. What we do guarantee is ethical, proven strategies and transparent reporting so you always know what we’re doing and why.

What is Google Business Profile and do I need one?

Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is the free listing that shows your business on Google Maps and in local search results. It’s one of the most important tools for local businesses. If you don’t have one (or it’s not optimized) you’re invisible to a huge chunk of potential customers. Yes, you need it.

Do you manage social media?

Yes. We offer social media management for Facebook, Instagram, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn, and YouTube. This includes content creation, scheduling, and engagement. Ask about our social media packages during your quote.

Pricing & Contracts

How much does a website cost?

Every project is different, so we don’t publish flat-rate pricing. A simple business website and a full eCommerce store have very different requirements. We provide detailed, transparent quotes based on your specific needs, no guessing, no surprises. Request a free quote to get started.

Do you require long-term contracts?

No. We don’t believe in locking clients into long-term contracts. Most of our services are month-to-month after the initial project. We earn your continued business by delivering results, not by trapping you in a commitment.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. Most projects require a deposit of 50% upfront to begin work, with the remaining balance due upon completion and before the site goes live. For larger projects, we may set up a milestone-based payment schedule.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. Your quote includes everything we agreed on. If something falls outside the original scope, we’ll discuss it with you before proceeding, never after the fact.

Working With Us

How do I get started?

The easiest way is to fill out our quote request form online. You can also call (936) 225-4705 or email [email protected]. We’ll schedule a free discovery call to learn about your business and your goals, then put together a detailed proposal.

What do I need to provide to get started?

To kick off a website project, we typically need:

  • Your logo and brand assets (if you have them)
  • Any existing content you want to keep
  • Examples of websites you like
  • Access to your current domain/hosting (if redesigning)

We’ll walk you through everything during onboarding.

Do I own my website when it is done?

Yes. You own your website, your domain, and all the content. We don’t hold your site hostage. If you ever decide to move on, we’ll help you transition.

Can you redeisgn my existing website?

Absolutely. Website redesigns are one of our most common projects. We’ll audit your current site, preserve what’s working (including your SEO), and rebuild with a modern, high-performing design.

Technical & Support

What happens if my website goes down?

If we’re hosting your site and it goes down, contact us immediately at (936) 225-4705 or [email protected]. We monitor hosted sites and typically catch issues before you do.

Do you offer remote support?

Yes. For existing clients, we offer remote desktop support via AnyDesk. Visit our Remote Support page for step-by-step instructions on how to connect.

Can you fix a website that someone else built?

Often, yes. We evaluate websites built by other agencies or developers on a case-by-case basis. Send us a link and we’ll give you an honest assessment of what it would take.

Do you work with clients who want to do some of the work themselves?

Yes. We’re flexible. Some clients want a fully hands-off experience; others want to do their own content updates or social media. We’ll structure the project around how involved you want to be.
