MasseyMedia has recently completed an interface upgrade on the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce website. The site has been updated to allow for a more compact design and better information delivery. The home page now features a tabbed interface allowing for more content to be accessible in fewer clicks.
In addition, the entire site has been redesigned utilizing JQuery as the javascript library of choice. JQuery affords us many nice features to enhance the site layout and utilize more advanced functions. The new Video Gallery is one example of a page utilizing the new powerful javascript features.
We have also integrated social media sharing features allowing visitors to send articles and events to a myriad of social networks, colleagues, and friends. Links to our Facebook and Twitter pages are also included on all pages to help promote those new features.
Another new feature is one that many will never use – but provides a huge benefit to those who do. Our site printing has been greatly enhanced on a number of fronts. Firstly, we have restyled the site when you print any page. All graphics, headers, footers, etc are removed and only the pertinent information is printed. This helps reduce the amount of ink used and helps preserve the about of paper consumed. In addition, utilizing some pretty neat coding, when you click the Print Pagelink at the bottom of the pages, the system will automatically generate a “footnotes” section that will list all hyperlinks within the page. This added benefit greatly helps to identify URL’s to the links within the pages. Feel free to test out this new feature and let us know what you think!
